How To Make Walnut Pie Cake

- 150 g all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 140 g butter (cold)
- 4 tablespoons ice water
- Plastic film food processor
To make the pie crust: Mix flour and salt in the bowl of a food processor.
Turn on the machine and mix well, then add the butter, and then stir again until the butter is chopped into almond-sized pieces. Pour in water, one tablespoon at a time, and beat until a dough is formed.
Flatten the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

On the floured workbench, roll the pie crust into a big circle with a diameter of about 30 cm. Put it in the pie pan, cut off the excess, and roll up the edges to make folds.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Put a fork in the pie crust and put it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
Cover the pie crust with aluminum foil and put it in the heavy stone. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the heavy stone and continue to bake until the pie crust starts to turn golden brown, about 5 minutes. Let stand to cool.

Make the filling: Mix sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Add eggs and stir until smooth.

- 200 g walnuts

Heat a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, and keep stirring until the butter turns brown and fragrant.
Slowly pour the butter into the sucrose mixture and stir well.
Stir in the orange zest and walnuts, then pour the filling into the pie crust.

If you like, you can decorate the pies with more walnuts, put them in concentric circles or other shapes to make the pies look better.
Adjust the oven temperature to 175°C and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the filling is set, but it still slightly shakes when touched.
Cool the pie at room temperature and serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
